PINDAD GET 2019 GREEN PROPER FROM KLHK
Jakarta, PT Pindad (Persero) won the title of the 2019 Company Performance Rating Program in Green Environmental Management (Proper) 2019 from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).
Proper Green rating is an achievement evaluation of the environmental management performance of a company that has an environmental management system, has a good relationship with the community including making 3R (Reuse, Recylce, Recovery) efforts. This achievement is the first award in the environmental field this year.
The Green Proper Award won by Pindad was handed over by Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK) Siti Nurbaya Bakar to the Director of Technology and Development of PT Pindad Ade Bagdja and witnessed by Indonesian Vice-President Ma'ruf Amin at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (8 / 1/2020).
"The achievement of Proper Green is a manifestation of the company's commitment to environmental management. Not only that, this award also encourages us to make various empowerment efforts that are suistanable both for the community and the environment." said Ade Bagdja.
PT Pindad has made various efforts throughout 2018 until 2019 around the company's area which is carried out consistently and sustainably which is divided into 8 aspects namely water resources, air / energy resources, B3 waste management, Non-B3 waste, environmental management systems, biodiversity protection, emission reduction, and community development.
One of Pindad's contributions to the environment sector is support for the use of one of the Pindad Exacava Amphibious products in the Citarum Harum program, which has been rolled out by the central government since February 2018. A program to handle the Citarum River that used to be the most polluted sungat in the world.
Another program, carried out by Pindad is Urban Farming which is part of the Community Development program. Continually, Pindad, together with the surrounding community, carried out land use as well as urban farming training.
With a variety of programs carried out by Pindad for the community and the environment and appreciation from the government through Proper Green, this has increasingly motivated companies to do their best for the community and the environment. This is in line with the values ??applied in environmental management and community empowerment.
