PT Pindad Signs HoA with KG Mobility for National Vehicle Project

Bandung - PT Pindad formalized a strategic partnership with KG Mobility from South Korea through the signing of a Head of Agreement (HoA) on Thursday, May 8th 2025 at PT Pindad’s Auditorium Bandung. The agreement signed by the CEO of PT Pindad, Sigit Santosa and Chairman of KG Mobility. Kwak Jae-sun.

The agreement marks a pivotal step in advancing collaborative efforts for National Vehicle project of Indonesia and electric bus development. The HoA builds on prior strategic ties between two entities, making a long-term commitment to bolster domestic manufacturing capabilities. Key components of the partnership including joint development and production, Transfer of Technology (ToT), procurement of spare parts, component manufacturing, and after-sales services. The intellectual property rights will remain exclusively held by each entity under the agreement.

CEO of PT Pindad, Sigit Santosa, stating that this collaboration has a strategic value, not only transformative for the business growth of PT Pindad, but also strengthens bilateral relations between Indonesia and South Korea.

Today marks the momentum of the continuation of our collaboration and long-term collaboration commitment between PT Pindad and KG Mobility. This cooperation allows joint development and production related to the national vehicle project to Transfer of Technology which a great value to PT Pindad,” Sigit Santosa explained.

Chairman of KG Mobility, Kwak Jae-sun expressed optimism about the partnership’s potential and stated “We express our gratitude for the cooperation that has been established and welcome the future strategic collaboration with PT Pindad. This cooperation also has strategic meaning for bilateral relations between Indonesia and South Korea that have been established since 2017. I am optimistic that KG Mobility is the right partner and we support the development of PT Pindad”.

The signing ceremony conluded with a discussions on operationalizing the agreement and plant tour to the production facilities of PT Pindad. Notably, the partnership includes a Transfer of Manufacture (ToM) framework aimed at elevating production capabilities of PT Pindad. PT Pindad reaffirm its commitment to driving sustainable innovation in Indonesia’s defense and manufacturing sectors aligning with national goals for the independence of defense industry.
