Visit of Timor Leste Delegation to PT Pindad (Persero)

 

 

Eleven members of Timor Leste delegation, did a visit to PT PIndad (Persero), Thursday, December 11^th 2012. The group directly accepted by PT Pindad President Director, Adik Avianto Soedarsono at Auditorium Directorate Building.

The visit which led by Guillhermina F.S Ribeiro in order to know PT Pindad capability to help the fulfillment of defence and security tools, based on the principal of cooperation between Indonesian Government and Timor Leste’s. This visit was also to audit the purchasing of 75 units of PM 2 sub machine guns which had purchased before.

At the Weapon Division, the group received an explanation about the weapon production process from the Head of Engineering Department, Zen Wahyudi and invited to see the production facilities at the 1^st Production Department, Assembling Hall, and Display Room to see the weapon products of PT Pindad completely.

Then, the group off to the keeping storage and took the samples of PM 2 sub machine guns which they had purchased and directly tested it at the shooting test area. After they tested the weapons, a satisfaction expression was visible on their face. Beside the sub machine guns, they also had an opportunity to test the performance of SS2 assault riffles and G2 handguns. 

That day’s activity was ended by a visit to Special Vehicle Division, where the group could directly see the combat vehicle production facilities and received an explanation from the Head of 2^nd Production Department, Hery Mochtady.

Hopefully with this visit, the cooperation between Indonesia and Timor Leste could be enhanced and there would be another purchasing for main weaponry tools products in the future. (Anggia Susada Mantarlia)
