Indonesia : Overall Winner in AASAM 2012
AASAM Championship shooting competition 2012 held from 7 until May 17, 2012 in Victoria-Melbourne, Australia followed by 15 countries in Asia – Pacific : Australia, United States, Britain, Canada, Japan, France, New Zealand, Singapore , Malaysia, Timor Leste, Brunei, Thailand, Philippines, Chinese, Indonesia.
In this event, Indonesia emerged as overall winner by gaining 28 gold medals, 12 silver and 8 bronze of the 34 match contested.
Using Pindad weapons products, Assault Rifle SS2 4 HB V and G2 Pistol Combat, the Indonesian Army shooter appeared very confident. They proudly beat the rival and bring the name of Indonesia in the prestigious event shooting competition. Indonesian contingent, amounting to 12 shooter and 6 officials is headed by Lt. Col. Surya Wibawa who currently serves Danyon Banjar West Java.
Wednesday (6/6) contingents of the Indonesian Army shooter visited Pindad for a close look at the process of making a weapon that has led contingent became the overall champion.
The contingents was welcomed by Director For Weapon System, Slamet Irianto are pleased to welcome and entertain them, as an expression of gratitude and pride for the use of Pindad product in AASAM 2012. It has indirectly helped the marketing of Pindad products to foreign countries.
On the occasion, the group participants expressed a very valuable input to Pindad, in order to improve the quality and product quality, especially weapons and pistols used in the shooting competition.
They said that Pindad weapons and Pistol products has the same quality as a weapon of foreign products, reliable and feasible to perform and used in the championship, even in the International events. Bravo Pindad.
