VISIT OF COORDINATING MINISTER FOR ECONOMIC AFFAIRS TO PINDAD - BANDUNG

Sunday (August 7, 2011) Coordinating Minister Hatta Rajasa has visited to several places in Bandung, including his visits to Pindad.
During his visit to Pindad is  received by President Director of PT. Pindad (Persero), Adik A. Soedarsono, participated Board of Directors and top officials.  In his speech, Hatta Rajasa delivered some very interesting things, as follows:

1. The government put the Strategic Industry as pillars of strength or bearing capacity in meeting the nation's defense industry and in the broad sense is also expected to be able to support the economy.
2. Strategic industries are placed in the master plan of the acceleration and expansion of Indonesia's economic development and specifically included in the industrial weaponry / defense equipment.
3. Strategic industries that involve to the industrial master plan should be successful and get alignment from the government. In these cases the government (President) should be instructed that the entire defense equipment that has been created by the obligatory use of strategic industries in the country.

 
Relating to the Master plan of the acceleration and expansion of industrial economic development there is a potential market that should be developed in Research and Development in accordance with the development of national science and technology.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs is committed in the context of the financial and state budget supports also regulation support that allows developing strategic industries.
The Minister also told the Board of Directors, to set a strategy to strengthen the commitment and to prepare the Research and Development program.

What kind of Pindad commitment within 5 years, 10 years, 15 years and 25 years? The roadmap should be clear and potential human resources should be developed, because there is not a big country and capable of being a great country without the support of science and technology and defense equipment industries are adequate.
