December 22, 2009, held at Hotel Bidakara Jakarta, PT. Pindad (Persero) received the Competency Award 2009 from the National Board of Professional Certification (BNSP) for the industry category. PT. Pindad (Persero) won this award along with 5 other industries, namely PT. Wijaya Karya Tbk, PT. Garuda Indonesia, PT. Toyota Astra Motor, PT. Industrial Engineering and PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia. This award was given by the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, Muhaimin Iskandar.

Competency Award 2009 was given into 4 categories namely industrial category, the category community leaders, educational institutions / training and individual category / professional.

BNSP Competency Award as the highest award given for dedication, hard work and special services and who can prove themselves in the achievement of competence in the field, or have been successfully moved, improving the competence of the nation. Recognition of competence is intended to increase competitiveness in the labor market, opening up career prospects, better remuneration, and make it easier for industry to get quality workers.

After receiving the Competency Award 2009, PT. Pindad determined to maintain the achievement of competence in the field of defense industry.
